The Kings Mountain Soft Ball League opened yesterday afternoon with Haywood Lynch catching a pitch from Joe Neisler, former Neisler Mill executive, in a game between Pauline Mill and Star Club. Games continue Monday with yesterday’s results noted. a separate obituary reports the death of Helen Howard, five, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Howard, after a short illness. Funeral services were conducted Thursday by Rev. L. Boyd Hamm. interment followed at Bessemer City cemetery. A Kings Mountain Building & Loan Association board meeting yielded an agreement with an attorney from a bonding firm regarding pay.
