Kings Mountain’s two service clubs and about 40 guests convene at the Woman’s Club to hear from the joint committee on plans for a modern hotel. Kings Mountain Schools Open With Large Enrollment
Kings Mountain schools opened with 14 more students than last year as Superintendent B N Barnes released figures to the Herald. High School showed 15 more, West school up by thirty, elementary grades overall down with East and Central slipping, total white attendance rise of four. Davidea School up seven in elementary, and Bim High School noted in the report.

William Alexander Gemble a Ged 71 died in Bessemer City Sunday morning at 10 o clock of double pneumonia. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 4 o clock at the A R P Church in Bessemer City. He was twice married first to Miss Memte Clommer and second to Miss Nora Miller. He is survived by one son from the first marriage and three children from the second marriage Dell Gambie of Gastonia Mrs J H Black of Bessemer City and J W Gamble of Kings Mountain.

Funeral services for John J Logan aged 70 were held at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev Mauney and others officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. He leaves a widow two sons Thomas Albert William a daughter Mattie and Tala, a mother W F Logan of Kings Mountain and a sister Mrs S S Carter of Mare Hill NC. He died suddenly from a heart attack Monday afternoon.
