Log Rolling Day in Kingman Ends in Rainout
The third annual Fountain County Log Rolling near Kingman was spoiled by a cloudburst shorting a planned big day. A 500 strong Attica train with 23 piece National Military Band led a postponed parade. Whelan and Otte spoke, Covington and Veedersburg contingents attended, and crowd estimates exceeded 2000 before rain halted events.

Academy Reunion Planned for Opening Day
Arrangements are under way to hold a reunion at the Academy on September 20. The effort aims to contact every student and alumnus from the school’s founding to the present. The event is expected to be the largest of its kind with an all day program, a picnic dinner, and speakers including President Kelly and professors from Earlham College. Committees are appointed and a formal schedule will be announced.
