Local liveryman T M Jackson suffers a heavy loss when two prized horses, valued at at least 400 dollars, are killed by a southbound passenger train at the crossing near Robt Andrew's home two miles south of town. Cecil Jackson, the driver’s son, narrowly escapes serious injury as the engine strikes the animals. The train backs up, then continues on its route.

Cates Church Dedicated With Large Dedicatory Service
The new Cates church was dedicated last Sunday in a ceremony led by Dr. Funk of Dayton Ohio. A subscription paper rapidly raised 1200 dollars to cover the 1000 dollar indebtedness and provide a balance for incidental expenses. The church is a handsome frame structure, and Pastor Rev.
