Ten Mile Run of a Runaway Horse
A son of Pete Ellis of Waynetown and a companion were returning home when a horse bolted after a buggy collided with a westbound passenger train near Waynetown. The horse raced ten miles toward Veedersburg, crossing cement bridges with the engine applying air brakes to keep distance. The horse, minus three shoes, was captured near Mill street and later examined by a veterinarian who found it uninjured aside from worn hoofs.

Editor Narrowly Escapes Arrest During Hunt
On the State farm last Tuesday Isaac R. Strouse was arrested by Deputy Fish Commissioner Kelley for lacking a hunter license. He produced the license from an overcoat pocket on the same day. The Tribune notes the incident occurred on press day and that 50 men have since obtained hunting permits, with officials promising stricter enforcement in Parke County.

Finger Amputation After Fodder Shred Incident
Dr. C C Wert from Covington assisted Dr. A L Ratcliff in amputating part of Clem Ratcliff's right index finger two weeks after it was badly mangled in a fodder shredder. The finger was severed at the second joint but doctors hope the remaining portion can be saved.
