Great Voting Contest Closes Saturday At Eight P M
Miss Lenore Spencer and Miss Eva Sewers of Kingman lead as the voting deadline nears. Grace Myers also from Kingman is noted as the contest winds down with operations strictly closing at eight o'clock Saturday evening. Voters must finalize subscriptions and payments before the cutoff and all votes will be counted openly once voting ends. The Star promises a fair contest with no further entry after the closing hour and no knowledge of opponents' totals until the final count.

Frank McCoutry of Attica visited on business while David Sherrick ex auditor of state spent time with old acquaintances. Mrs N B Clark joined her husband in their winter home and traveled to Yeddo to visit her daughter. James Woody, Newcastle baseball standout, is visiting his parents as he continues his good season.

Death in Crosspoint scale pen after night storm
Thomas Keerns aged forty five was found in a scale pen on the Samuel Rhodes farm at Crosspoint in Wabash Township near Covington. Discovered by tenant Mr Bell who heard groans early Sunday morning. He died at 8 10 a m from exposure after efforts by Dr Coggins failed. Survived by widow and three children living in Perrysville. Keerns left Covington on Saturday evening around six thirty and is believed to have sought shelter in the pen during the storm.
