Prison Move For Four Suspected Boys
Four boys aged 12 to 14 were sent to Pontiac reformatories after admitting horse theft. Henry Benton Smith Andrew H Sowers Benny Peak George M Shandor and Henry True were among those held, with Sheriff Helmick showing compassion during their jail stay and trip to the reformatory. Sophomore Social Nets Funds for Library Books
A fine success at the Sophomore class poverty social in the high school building last Thursday night. Guests enjoyed corn bread beans pickles coffee and pumpkin pies. Receipts about twenty six dollars with around twenty eight dollars cleared. Dot Ratcliff won the cake for the most popular young lady and Genevieve Rooe with Chas Massey won the greenest couple cake but it was not accepted. Comic makeups amused visitors as the Sophomores plan more events to support the library.
