County Board Moves to Hire Agricultural Expert Under Vocational Law
The Fountain county Board of Education plans an agricultural agent under the Vocational Education law as the chief local vocation. The agent will work year round with Purdue University supervision, run farm demonstrations and 4 H clubs, and assist in teaching agriculture and domestic science in schools. A local county organization and township meetings will organize funding and leadership with a one dollar membership. Longtime Fulton resident David Cates dies at 68
David Cates of Fulton township died suddenly at his home near Cates around noon Sunday after a day with routine health. He was 68, survived by a wife, four sons, three daughters, and many relatives. He spent sixty years on the homestead and served on the Fountains county Board of Reviews. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 o’clock at home with Kingman Lodge 314 F and AM in charge, burial at a nearby cemetery.
