Arista Shoaf sustained an eye injury while driving a spike with a sledge hammer when a steel fragment flew off the spike striking his left eye near the pupil. He had the piece removed by Dr Ratcliffe and will not lose sight of the eye.
Tuesday E S Booe traveled to Yeddo to reopen the branch with Geo F Lines as cashier. The prior breach saw about 1200 dollars stolen when the safe was blown. The Bank of Kingman bought a top quality round door safe, one of the strongest and latest models, and placed it in Yeddo about a week before the reopening.
Last Thursday at Scotts Prairie church Millcreek held a commencement for 38 graduates led by trustee Masser and Supt Wilkinson. Rev Moffett gave the invocation and class address, diplomas were presented, Hudlnds orchestra provided music, and patrons filled the church showing pride in the county’s largest class.
Fred Madden and his wife relocated to their new Covington residence on Tuesday. The note also invites readers to get their old harness oiled at Woodys.
Jackson township alumni met in Wallace church last Saturday for their annual banquet with Hudler's Orchestra providing music. After ice cream and cake, toasts were offered by elder members and officers elected for the year: Alfred Bryant President Ella Wooley Vice President A. B. Lowe Treasurer. Francis Redenbaugh and others express thanks for assistance after a death. A piano sale and season bookkeeping for the Hobsonjack added to notices. Woody sells harness.
Theodore Romine, a longtime farmer who moved from west of Stone Bluff to Mooreville, wed Margaret Mather last Friday night. Mather, a prominent teacher and lecturer, appears on the Attica Chautauqua program for domestic science and home making July 8 to 13, and has spoken at farmers institutes statewide. The couple met through shared work in the field.
Spokane branch of the Socialist Party proposes a national political journal with Uncle Sam as publisher in Washington D C. Each party would have an editor paid by the government to maximize space for propaganda. The plan limits content to platforms and candidate announcements with no ads and sets pages by government authority.
