Fred S. Purnell an Attica attorney won the Republican nomination for congressman from Indiana ninth district at Kokomo. Final totals showed 13214 for Purnell and 115% for Statesman with county splits listed. Attica welcomed home Purnell with a band and drum corps. Glenn Williams was struck by a G. and E. J. train at the C and I crossing near Veedersburg. He escaped with a broken leg after his Ford roadster was crushed and hurled about 78 feet, the car nearly destroyed while Williams received treatment and was taken home.

Commercial Club Sets Kingman July Celebration in Club Hands
The Kingman Commercial club held a meeting to plan the Fourth of July celebration. Reports from committees were favorable and readiness for the event was near. The club will manage funds and pay all bills, with secretary Harry E Lowell handling proposals. A by law change will move meetings to every two weeks to fit a five Friday month.
