Will Robison Nets Heavy Wabash Catfish
Will Robison hauled a 50 pound catfish from the Wabash near Sugar Creek last Saturday. He notified C. L. Woody, who with Pearl Woody retrieved the fish in their car and delivered it to Robison & Reath's meat market where it sold out quickly and impressed customers with its fine flavor.

Seven month old baby operated on for spinal trouble
The seven month old child of Mr and Mrs Chas Best underwent spinal surgery at Culver Union hospital Crawfordsville on Wednesday. Dr Barcus led the operation and the infant was reported improving nicely. Doctors warn the disease is very dangerous and its progress is being closely watched.

New Drainage Ditch Aims To Reclaim Boggy Land
A $6 000 project south of Fountain seeks to dig a large ditch along the old canal bed to drain the Bogs area. Travelers note heavy water along the Towpath between Attica and Covington and old settlers recall peat and underground fires. The plan calls for 12 16 and 20 inch tile to reclaim and farm the land annually, opening along the Towpath road below the Puor farm.

Auto Crash Injures Lem Pithoud and Others Near Tangier
Four youths Clyde Muvore Mort Wilkey Jas Hepler and Lem Pithoud were in a Sunday eve accident on a hill near Tangier. Driver Clyde Moore failed to see a sharp turn and the Apperson touring car struck a bank, damaging a fender and wheel. Pithoud suffered a left arm gash needing stitches. others were bruised but ok. Orph Millikan took them to town for treatment by Dr Wert. Wheel repaired. Pithoud improving.

Agriculture to be taught in rural schools this term

Fatal Accident Near Fowler Claims Two Lives
Jacob Oatsman and his wife were killed in a single vehicle crash near Fowler last Sunday at about 12:30 after their auto skidded on a slippery road while returning from church. Their ten children survived with minor injuries. The couple, prominent local farmers, left behind a large family.

Malisa King Dies Suddenly After Afternoon At Home
Malisa King, 31, died at the home of her uncle Thomas King one mile east of Cates yesterday afternoon about 3 30 after returning from the barn where she helped drench a sick horse. She had been laughing and talking with relatives and Mrs Geo Simmons when she collapsed. Dr. Ratcliff arrived too late. Cause is believed heart trouble. She was a daughter of Henry Wing and had lived with her uncle since her mother died years ago. Funeral arrangements not yet made.

Twin Boys Undergo Removal of Extra Fingers and Toes
Through the Crawfordsville Journal and the county welfare department, surgeons Dr P J Barcus and Dr Faye O Schenck operated at Culver Union Hospital on a Tuesday. They removed four extra fingers and as many extra toes from nine year old twins Clyde and Claude Powers sons of George Powers of Gibson Street. The boys each had an extra finger under the little finger and an extra toe on each foot. The father, supporting a large family, could not afford treatment, so the operation relieved lifelong deformities.
