Mrs Elizabeth Embree born near Perrysville Indiana December 10 1841 died July 11 1910 aged 68 years 7 months 1 day She was daughter of Coleman and Ann Sanders She joined Cumberland Presbyterian church at Yankee Point at age 17 and remained a Christian until death She married Isaac Embree August 14 1859 and had five children four survived The family recalls her patience care and devotion during long illnesses and trials A short prayer service was held at home Tuesday led by Rev Clapp The remains were taken to Georgetown IL for funeral services and burial Local names include John Carter Hugh McCrary Will Carter C L Woody Pearl and family Ada Gamble Clarence Wilhite Dr F S Cuthbert and others attended or were mentioned in relation to visits or duties

A heavy wind near Attica split wind and struck Monday afternoon, blowing down the Frank Nave farm silo barn and uprooting trees at Alton Nave. Wheat shocks in 40 to 50 acres were largely blown over, oats leveled, and Elmdale tents torn, but no livestock were harmed as barns sheltered cattle and residents found shelter in neighboring tents.

DeWitt Spencer of Saybrook died Sunday night from intentional carbolic acid poisoning. The inquest by Coroner Hare found death in a personal crisis, noting prior talk of suicide, despondency, and alcohol use. The funeral was held Tuesday at the M E church. Spencer born 1856 in Annapolis Indiana, survived by wife Amanda Teegarden and three children.

Camera Spooks Carriage Hurts Six Near Town
Miss Nell Nolen her son Jeli Alson Nolen and Miss Kate Van Duyn with Chas. Masser and Eddie Bone brake were returning from a blackberry trip when a 22 year old colt pulling their wagon was frightened by a camera. The horse bolted near the interurban line causing the wagon to crash and the six occupants to be thrown, suffering bruises.
