In Battle Creek Michigan on December 30 1910 the undersigned certify that no testimonial letter printed by the Postum Cereal Co Ltd lacked a genuine signed statement. They affirm the company has received over fifty thousand authentic letters and has never knowingly issued untruthful product statements.
The Postum Company rejects charges that its products cure illnesses and inflates nourishment claims. It argues that Grape-Nuts and Postum aid digestion and nourishment, explains calorie concepts, defends testimonials as genuine, and denounces a critical weekly’s distortions while citing physician readers and industry practice.
The speaker recalls being attacked and defending with facts before the Public. A noted appeal has been made to higher courts. Faith is placed in American tribunals to resolve the dispute. Suit against the weekly remains untried and concerns libel.
