Fountain County Athletic League organized at Covington
The Fountain County Athletic League formed last Saturday in Covington by high school athletic coaches attending the Fountain County Teachers Association. Plans call for annual meets in member cities with a May track meet at Covington. Entrants unlimited per event with yard hurdle, 190 yard dash, quarter, half, mile, relay, running high jump, running broad jump, and hammer throwing. Trophy for top high school, ribbons for top three in each event. Scoring: five for first, three for second, one for third. Former Sylvania Woman Dead
Mrs. Martha Atkinson Hadley wife of Chas Hadley died at her home near Lafayette Oregon on Monday night February 3 19. The birth date was September 28 1848 and she married Chas Hadley March 3 1870 at Sylvania. She leaves three sons Ralph Kenley Aller and a sister Mary Richardson. The body rests in Brookside cemetery near Lafayette. Mr Hadley a local figure, was trustee of Millcreek township and oversaw Kingmans first school building.

Crumley Sentenced to Prison and Aims to Farm
Crumley began a prison term of 2 to 21 years after being taken by Sheriff Martin from Danville to Lafayette and Michigan City. He claimed innocence and said he would be a model prisoner hoping for early liberty, and wished to work as a farmer if allowed. His daughter still believes him innocent and will stay with his brother while he serves.

Attica Druggist Roy Hatton Ends Life by Poison
Roy D. Hatton a prominent Attica citizen died by his own action after taking a drug in his room at Tas McClaflin's home. The 35 year old operated a local drugstore and had recently made an assignment but continued to run the business under trustee Fred S. Purnell. His wife's death ill health and financial troubles are cited as likely causes. He was the son of Mrs. John Hatton of Williamsport.

Women Narrowly Escape Death In Bridge Embankment Crash
Mrs. Dave Mc Alister and Mrs. Bert Sowers of north of Hillsboro were driving a horse and buggy with a 2½ year old child on Coal Creek bridge when the horse balked and backed over a twenty foot embankment. Mrs. Mc Alister suffered a broken collar bone and head gash. Mrs. Sowers and the child were shaken but uninjured. The buggy was destroyed while the horse escaped injury. They had been visiting friends and were returning home when the accident occurred after an approaching automobile spooked the horse.
