Attica Booster Band Promotes 1915 Chautauqua
A parade of forty people, thirty autos and a hundred fifty citizens toured the area Tuesday morning distributing circulars and lithographs for Attica’s 1915 chautauqua at Ravine Park August 13 to 22. The independent program will feature top talent with Farmers Day on August 20 highlighted by the National band and lectures including Prof. W. J. Kennedy of Ames College on Present Day Problems in Agriculture.

Allen B. Glascock Died After Illness at Yeddo Indiana
Allen B. Glascock died Thursday morning at his Yeddo home after a brief consumption illness at about 3 30. He was 51 and survived by two wives and seven children. He belonged to Scotts Prairie Christian church Masonic Lodge Red Men and Woodmen Camp. Funeral services were held Saturday at his home with interment at Rockfield cemetery.

Joseph Wert Injured After Fall From Car
Wallace builder Joseph Wert sixty was injured when he tripped while alighting from an auto in front of his home last Thursday evening. Several ligaments were torn and recovery will take time. Wert had just returned from a trip to Yeddo with Jake Fine and others. He is father of County Health Officer Dr C C Wert of Covington.

Covington Woman Tries Suicide by Carbolic Acid At Store
Mrs Ethel Hodge Hegg of Covington attempted to drink carbolic acid in the stairway of the Goodman store last Saturday night. Her husband knocked the bottle from her hand as bystanders avoided injury and a crowd gathered while doctors treated her with antidotes. She was taken home after the incident amid reports of long standing illness and recent worry.

Andy Runey, a long serving passenger conductor on the Ce and IE, died at his Chicago home Sunday morning after a brief pneumonia illness. He was one of the railroad’s oldest employees on this branch and left many friends along the route.

Newtown Man George Rice Died From Heart Disease
George Rice aged sixty five died suddenly Tuesday night at his Newtown home. An invalid who used a wheelchair he made his way to town and home again before collapsing. A physician found him in serious condition and death was due to heart disease. He left two children Mrs Carl Merz and Lough Rice of Indianapolis and two sisters Mrs John Gebhart of Newtown and Mrs Rachel Gillipia of Vernon Ind.

Man tumbles down precipice at Shades of Death
Richard Werneke, Terre Haute Vigo county prosecuting attorney, fell about one hundred feet on Fat Man's Misery Path near Lover's Leap at Shades of Death. He was rescued, with a head wound and back injuries but no broken bones after aid at a local hotel. W. F. Keller aided after reaching the scene.
