Michael Smith a 76 year old inmate of the Benton county infirmary learned he is to receive about $50,000 from a brother of his late wife’s family. His son Jack Smith of Templeton and his sister from St. Louis joined the aged man to hear the news. The legacy comes from a brother of the elder Smith who died recently in Gilman Illinois.
The church invites worshippers to attend Sunday morning and evening events. Martilia Cox plans to attend the morning service and the open air evening gathering following ongoing repairs.
The H D G club was entertained at the home of Misses Myra and Lois Ford on Wednesday evening. All members were present and one guest, Miss Dorothy Neverter of Crawfordsville.
The Covington Fair calendar runs September 16 to 19 with over $2,000 in cash premiums across departments. New entry plan waives fees unless winning, while speed ring entries still incur a deduction from winnings. Purses total $4,200 with detailed trotting and pacing classes open to the world except Tri-County races restricted to local horses.

Miss Lucile M. Morgan and Mr. Fred H. Parrott were married at 2 PM yesterday at the home of Mrs. Elzada Bonebrake in Veedersburg with Rev. J M Tugele officiating. Both are well known in Millcreek township with Parrott noted as a former teacher and Morgan a nurse.
