Ex auditor James T. Bell settles county error case

The report by investigator Julian M. Martin states ex auditor James T. Bell settled all county errors. Bell owed $380.65, paid $227.40 earlier, and last week paid $153.25 to cover the balance. The case relates to misrecorded fees once collected by auditor Pell.

Fire destroys Sterling Remedy building in Attica

A Sunday morning blaze gutted the Sterling Remedy Company's building in Attica, damaging the structure and contents by about 15000 dollars. Two railcars of lithographs and fifteen thousand dollars in stock were lost, with 2000 on building and 5000 on stock insured. Maj. Harry Kramer, the company’s general manager, arrived soon after with four others in twelve minutes. he later sent a $100 check to the fire brigade, and work resumed Monday.

Fountain's Quota Received for 1905 Acts Distribution

County Clerk Madden has received Fountain county quota of the published acts of the last legislature. The acts, issued under Secretary of State Pred A Sims, set a new record for rapid distribution after adjournment. Each county gets 160 volumes of 800 pages with 66 fewer than 1905. After clerks recite, Governor Hanly will issue a proclamation reflecting the laws within about ten days.
