Phoebe Elizabeth Gifford dies at Kingman March 28 1913 after a typhoid pneumonia illness aged nearly 38. Born near Grange Corner Indiana April 15 1875 she lived with her grandfather William Shuler before moving to Kingman four years ago. She married James Riley at about age 20 and left five children and her elderly grandfather as survivors. She was devoted to her family and active in the Friends church with funeral services held at the Friends church last Saturday at 2 pm with pastors Mary and Martilla Cox and burial in Harveysburg cemetery.

On Friday March 28 Hunt schoolhouse held its last day. Patrons filled baskets for a noon dinner then admired pupil art including Dora Norman drawings. Mrs Edna Moore received praise and a vote to return as teacher next year. Organ funds were completed and the event included a heartily praised program and social time.

Lettice Tane Poling Smith born May 30 1839 near Fairmount Virginia died March 27 1913 aged 73 years 9 months and 27 days. She joined the M E church at 15 and lived a faithful Christian life. She married John W Smith February 20 1858 in Gillilopolis Ohio and moved to Brown County Indiana where he died July 27 1894. She lived with her niece Mrs John W Snider after widowhood. Her last sickness was short after years of suffering. She leaves two half brothers Jonas Wilcox and William Leman of Nashville Indiana a half sister Lucinda Mitchell of Thorntown Indiana and many relatives. The funeral was held at 10 o'clock last Saturday from the Snider home with Rev J M McHargue. burial followed.

Harriet Orintha Myers daughter of William and Sarah Van Gundy Myers was born May 16 1838 on Scotts Prairie and died March 18 1913 at age 74 years 10 months and 2 days. She married Adam Hershberger in 1873 and had three children plus two stepchildren. She leaves twenty two grandchildren one great grandchild and a surviving brother Calvin who died March 5 1913 in Texas. She joined the U B church at seventeen and lived a faithful Christian life reading the Bible and studying Sunday school lessons. She died in the faith shouting and was ready to go.
