The town of Kimbal is described as the best located in Southern Dakota near Brule County center, set in prime farming and stock country. The article notes crops as proof, praising the region's agricultural success in recent years.
Kimball sits on the Main Line of the Chicago Milwaukee St Paul Railroad. Located 48 miles west of Mitchell and 22 miles east of Chamberlain. It boasts a fine public school building good churches a first class post office two banks two good hotels one large grain elevator and material on hand for another three lumber yards and multiple black smith shops with ample livery stables and stores representing all crude trades. The region offers strong incentives for new investment to live men seeking opportunity.
The North Dakota Press association met at the Grafton Herald office and adopted a constitution and by laws. H C Upham was elected president, W J Scott secretary, R S Hoskins treasurer, with J D Hoskins and others on the executive committee. The group planned uniform advertising rates and annual literary meetings on July 4 each year.
The Brule County Agricultural Fair Grounds adjoin the townsite and are among the territory's best fair grounds with a good half mile track.
D Warner, proprietor of the original town site, reports three adjoining additions with continuing streets and alleys and macre lots to suit all residence buyers. Main Street blocks remain for sale to prospective businessmen. He extols Dakota climate, rainfall, and pure water, claiming it rivals Ohio Indiana Illinois for emigrants.
