In Binghamton on October 24 W J Bryan criticized blame on presidents sheriffs and bank officers and urged fault be placed on unscrupulous financiers who caused the crisis by predatory wealth and exploitation of the nation.
Prohibition sentiment sweeps Jefferson county in a hot campaign with early indications of about 1500 votes for dry. Ensley near Birmingham records a 34 point dry majority, while Birmingham city itself votes 320 against prohibition.
Goshen New York October 24 chief said Charles Rogers admitted to obtaining a confession by promising letters from a Chicago girl. he described killing Fred and Willis Odney and nine year old Alice Ingerick, assaulting Mrs. Ingerick, and tearing up love letters before signing. The witness testified as Rogers remained cool and vacant.
In Bounty Land October 23 report that Bounty Land school will open Monday November 4 with Miss Bertie Smith in charge. Local notes include visits, travels, and family news from Bennie Milam, J B Pickett, and Mrs J R Heller. A new church at Poplar is funded, a schoolhouse nears completion, and community members attend fairs and visits.
Westminster, October 29 special reports a busy array of town news. Miss Jeanie Stribling teaches at Townville High School, while Rev J J Harrell travels to the South Carolina Synod. Local residents discuss travel, health, and mission society plans as Mr. and Mrs. Moore host guests and businesses prepare new displays.
P G Waris of Cynthiana Kentucky says after thirty three years of sore eyes and six years of total blindness, a neighbor gave him half a box of Chamberlains Salve which healed his eyes and restored his sight. The salve is available from J W Bell Valhalla and W J Tanney Seneca.
In Quaker City on October 25 two men snatched 9000 in banknotes from a payout at a sub-treasury. Clerks pursued and the pair discarded the money under a streetcar. They were caught and are held at city hall. one bore a revolver.

R F Weeks a prominent merchant was found dead in his Dunbarton home with buckshot in the body. The window was broken and the cash in his room untouched. Weeks closed his store Saturday night and authorities suspect an ambush, with no arrests yet. Mrs Weeks and children were away visiting Augusta. In Seneca on October 29 the Club Asso-Sabon meeting is postponed to November 2. The program features local talents and piano and vocal offerings by Miss Janie Gordon Miss Annie Verner and Mrs T M McCutchen A glee club was formed by Miss Verner. The section notes visits relatives visitors and several Greenville events including a theater performance by the Winter Stock Company and a fire at the Seneca Mercantile store with quick response from clerks.
