Death of Mrs. Nannie Bryce Tolbert in 1906 Greenwood
Mrs. Nannie Bryce Tolbert wife of James W. Tolbert died suddenly in Greenwood on January 16 1906 leaving four children an aged mother and four brothers. She was a former Walhalla Female College student noted for upright Christian life and obedience to church duties. Her body lies in Greenwood cemetery with funeral faith cited by Rev M B Kelley. Infant Burned To Death In Home Fire
At Gaffooy February 17 a five month old girl, daughter of Mr and Mrs Forrest Painter, died from burns after flames ignited from a spark in the fireplace. The child slept in a cradle while the parents milled and fed stock. They removed the child and extinguished the blaze but she died Tuesday. Burial took place at the Lomaster graveyard.

Governor Glenn Advocates State Prohibition in Wilmington
In Wilmington on February 19 a large crowd at the Academy of Music heard Governor Glenn speak in favor of state prohibition. He delivered a bold, forceful address endorsing statewide prohibition. Earlier, Monday afternoon he was hosted at Wrightsville Beach by forty leading citizens.
