Winter feeding shed and outbuildings built for Helphrey

W S Helphrey has a 36 by 10 foot frame winter feeding shed connected to two 12 by 15 foot cement hen houses and two 18 by 20 foot colony houses. A B Dendinger handles carpentry. Helphrey raises thoroughbred barred rocks and white leghorns.

Lands and residents details reach Keota news route

T R Powell and Fred Busby of Denver visited Keota to inspect lands and the Wild Horse reservoir with plans to prepare fields for fall wheat. J E Pegge moved from Boulder to a Keota area homestead. The Wagner estate was probated with Christian S Wagner appointed administrator. Residents from Greeley and Chicago visited and moved about local properties including hydrant work and fence construction. Tell it to The News.

County division vote to be decided by November election

The executive committee of the division league at Sligo recommends letting voters in affected territory decide county division at the November general election. An election to locate a permanent county seat will follow after division, with a new election committee named to prepare plans and report at Buckingham.

Keota Hosts Sunday School Rally Speakers Planned

The Keota Sunday School rally sets for the 13th and 14th inst with H B McMillan as conductor and speakers Rev George S Parker Rev F E Gray Rev C Harrington and lay workers R T Carpenter Charles Morgan A S Whipple J E Snook. Judge Bradfield of Greeley will provide a legal perspective with devotionals and a prepared choir led by Mrs W A Rheadarmer. Oliver will preach at Keota and Sunnyridge on the 21st with morning and evening services and 2:30 pm session.

Weather report notes showers and hail impacts

The forecast calls for generally clear conditions with a shower at Keota on the afternoon of the 12th. Heavy rain is expected Thursday evening from Igo Creek northeast to Spring Creek, with some hail reported in parts but no damage. Fence washouts occur in Pawnee bottoms and a dam at Pawnee Creek headworks.
