Mrs H E Rheadarmer brought the flowers last Friday and a big bouquet was placed on each grave in the Keota cemetery. A Sunday May 31 contest on the home diamond saw Keota defeat a Grover Sligo Carpenter Hereford and Graham combined squad 7 to 0. Walter Quackenbush made a highlight triple play while Moore and Clarence Quackenbush pitched well. The locals also chalked up two doubles as they turned back the visitors with steady team play.

Second in Marathon in Rocky Mountain News Event
Clyde Owens of Keota finished second in the Rocky Mountain News Marathon held in Denver last Saturday. The ten mile course went from Littleton to the News office, with Owens finishing 1 hour 5 minutes 51.7 seconds, 70 seconds behind winner Ted Johnson of Salt Lake City. Both runners receive trips to California in 1915 to compete in San Francisco. Owens belongs to the University of Colorado Boulder class of 1915 and has notable academic and athletic records. His father John Owens attended commencement week in Boulder.
