The U S Marine Band will perform a 3 p m concert at Wills Gym in Kent with seventy to eighty musicians under William F Santelman. Soloists include Charles Owen Oliver Zinsmeister Robert Isele Edward L Masters. free tickets pass to university students with fee cards. Applications from 26 students for admittance to the primary and secondary student flight groups have been received. Adrian Van Wyen Kent director of the Civilian Pilot Training Course said yesterday.

Harter Speaks Here Friday On Defense

Congressman Dow W. Harter of Akron will address University students at 10 a.m. Friday about defense preparations. As ranking member of the military affairs committee and aviation subcommittee chair, he will discuss America’s plans in the current international situation. He previously spoke here in October on conscription issues affecting Kent and Akron districts.

Seniors And Proxy To Hold Top Spots

The first official assembly honoring the senior class will be held in the auditorium at 11 a.m. with President K. C. Leebrick giving the welcoming address. A. J. Miller says assemblies for other classes can be arranged to foster belongingness and oneness. All classes are excused for the hour and seniors may leave at 10 40 to gather in room 201 Merrill hall for the entrance. Fanfare, center seating, standing audience, grand march, organ music by John Boda, and singing follow the program with God Bless America and the alma mater after Leebrick's address.

Faculty To Attend Education Meeting In Ohio

Four members of the college education faculty will attend the Executive Committee meeting of the Ohio Supervisors of Instructors and Teachers association in Columbus on September 26-27. Dr. John L. Blair, dean, will lead the delegation and serve as state representative to the national convention. Accompanying him are Dr. Wilma L. Garnett, Miss Suzanne M. Koehler, and Dr. Florence Beall.
