Kent State will combine its 42 piece all coed band with the 68 piece men's band to perform at two events. The ensemble will play at the Akron Rubber Bowl on November 9 when Kent faces Akron and will also march at the Baldwin Wallace contest under director R D Metcalf. The 110 musicians will wear new uniforms featuring short blue jackets gold skirts and white boots received from the manufacturer.
Freshman Jim Rector of Meadville Pa says an all fresh dance band called the Hep-Cats is being formed. The first meeting is this afternoon at 4 in room 212 Merrill hall with eligibility for freshmen who have musical experience.
Kent State University Roosevelt Davey supporters announce an auto caravan to Akron to hear Wendell Willkie speak at Goodyear theater. Six hundred seats are reserved for students and faculty with buses departing Kent at 6 30 pm and returning about 10 pm.
The Fresh group presents The Whole Towns Talking with Ray Gallagher as Chester Binney tonight and tomorrow at 8 15. Milan Graach plays Mr Simmons and Ruth West is Ethel as plots to “glamorize” Chester unfold and Letty Lythe arrives with fiancé director Bob Houser.
Five students and Miss Agra Ruffer faculty advisor will attend the Kappa Delta Pi regional convention. Led by Jack Gray the group will depart for Bowling Green University tomorrow and return Sunday. Attending students include Gray Phyllis Martin Aileen Milligan Eloise Clark and John Shuke.
Harriet Adams Kathryn Boswell and El mer Novotny along with N. 5 Humphrey will attend an art symposium in Oberlin on October 26 with press invited to cover the event.
Prometheus J. Gurgle as Dogpatch mayor vows to enforce the Sadie Hawkins Day law by ordering the marriage flo wer tribute to married men into servitude. He warns voters that the law must be carried out and laments the personal pain of enforcing it. He wishes the eligible men luck for next year’s race.
