A campus poll of student leaders shows near unanimity for Roosevelt’s cash and carry plan. Fraternity and student editors praise strict cash transactions to keep ships and men out of danger, while a few oppose or advocate embargoes and isolation.

Freshmen to Sit Separately at Today’s Game

Freshmen will occupy a roped off section of the north bleachers from the 46 yard line to the east end. They must gather before game time from 1 45 to 2 15 and will enter into competition with upperclassmen on the opposite side of the field.

Kappa Delta Pi Holds Second Meeting at Captain Brady

The group met Wednesday evening October 11 at Captain Brady restaurant for a dinner and planning session. The year’s theme will be Democracy and Education with plans for upcoming activities. The next meeting is set for Wednesday evening November 8.

Home Economics Club Convention On Kent Campus

The Home Economics Regional conference will be held on the Kent campus with six colleges from northeastern Ohio attending. Miss Helen Robinson of the Cleveland Plain Dealer will speak on The Home Economist in the Field of Business. A tea and campus tour follow a luncheon and business meeting.

Lowry Hall Nominating Committee Named

At the Lowry hall meeting held last Monday Carol Sayer Jane Rothermund and Marjorie Jacot were chosen for the nominating committee for the officers election. A representative to the Womens league was also selected. Plans for the October 28 dance remain unfinished with no announcement made.

The Cardinal Key honorary society names Ernestine Baumgardner to represent them on the Central Committee and the National Board of Cardinal Key directors. Martha Driver serves as Cardinal Key representative for the Big Little Sister tea.

Crash Injures 2 Near Campus Gate

Two cars collided near the campus gate at East Main Street and Lincoln Avenue last night just before 8. Miss Roberta Seibert of Ravenna was knocked unconscious and treated at Ravenna Hospital where she recovered enough to avoid admission. Leo Roberson of Kent was shaken up as the other driver.

Mrs David Olson was selected Pan Hellenic advisor at the bi monthly meeting held Monday October 16 at 6 30 in Kent Hall.

Local Youngstown student pilots between Kent flights

Galen Edward Elser, a Youngstown College graduate and current music student, plans weekly 30 minute flights between Youngstown and Kent State for lessons. He flies a monocoupe, holds a permit, and aims to obtain his pilot license soon while praising student air training as a low cost path to flying. He survived a previous crash when wings tore off in summer and earned Caterpillar Club membership.

Faculty Club Dinner for New Faculty Guests
