Women Show Charm Tonite Homecoming Queen Contest
About fifty university women compete for Homecoming Queen at 8 o clock tonight in the auditorium. The winner will be announced Friday in the Stater and presented at the Homecoming game and the dance. Eligibility requires a 2 point average. Entrants wear street-length dresses and heels. Judges include Julius Greenfield Akron Beacon Journal Libby Whitmar Canton Repository and Robert Dix Courier-Tribune.

Cuban Professor Joins University as Spanish Instructor
Dr. Pamies, a 32 year old Cuban educator and former army supervisor, arrived two weeks ago to lecture 112 students as a Spanish professor. He graduated from the University of Havana, came to the United States in August, visited Kalamazoo and Chicago, and enjoys swimming and light opera in his spare time.

Council Plans Biggest Homecoming Show at KSU
Student council approved plans for what may be the largest Homecoming in KSU history. Entries for the house and dormitory decoration contest are due Thursday at noon, with decorations due by Saturday noon. Judging emphasizes originality theme taste relation to occasion and manual effort. The Homecoming queen will be chosen by three out of town newspaper men and crowned at the game and a later informal dance.

University guidance tests canceled and cafeteria delayed

Fresh Meeting Set For Today
The first freshman business assembly of the fall quarter will be held today in the auditorium at 4 p.m. under student council advisers Virginia Black and Tom Davey. Freshmen will elect an entertainment committee and an executive committee to supervise the class until November officers are elected after mid term deficiencies are announced.

Surplus army property continues to arrive at Kansas State University for industrial arts use. Merle Wagoner coordinator of surplus property procurement announced on Wednesday. Heavy machine tools come from the Air Corps and small tool shipments are expected from the Lordstown ordnance depot Ohio. Wagoner also seeks surplus radio and projection equipment for other departments.
