Dr E C Leebrick will speak on Adjusting To College after a formal senior recognition at the All University assembly. Seniors in caps and gowns participate in a 11 a m processional led by trumpet, with Joseph Lupkiewicz directing The Star Spangled Banner and alma mater before and after the address. John Boda will play processional and recessional.
Tom Harris, president, announced that Sophs To Meet Sophomores will hold their first class meeting today at 4 p m in room 317 McGilvrey hall. Laws for freshmen will be set up and one social event planned.
Adrian Van Wyen reports the largest current enlistments in the reserves come from juniors and seniors with freshmen and sophomores expected to join later. Marine Corps reserve 12, Army Air Force reserve 22, Army enlisted reserve unassigned 77, Naval reserve V-1 nine and V-7 fifteen. V-5 none. Enlistments likely open to freshmen in December or January 1943, so upperclassmen should sign up now. Extra curricular Civilian Pilot Training for V-1 and V-5 begins October 15.
Zoe Hannum a Kent freshman sick with chicken pox has left campus to recover at home and will return in a few weeks. Lt Clarence A Slocum former business administration assistant professor is appointed navy line officer and will teach navigation at Princeton after Chicago training. Acapella choir final tryouts end at noon under Bruce Handley with applications at Merrill Hall third floor.
A student council meeting was postponed yesterday because not enough members were present to form a quorum. The council will reconvene tomorrow at 7 p.m. in room 204 Merrill Hall to discuss student recommendations for the publications committee athletic policy committee and the sorority fraternity policy committee.
Dr. Kenneth R. Pringle assistant professor of English returns to Normal Illinois for a week before induction into the army Monday. Born in Appleton Wisconsin he studied at Illinois State Normal University the University of Illinois and Harvard. Pringle joined Kent in the fall of 1931.
Merle E Wagoner assistant professor of agriculture said 18 University students went to the Akron Water Works orchard Saturday to help pick apples. The fruit picking program relieves farm labor shortages and pays three to eight dollars a day.
Registrar E C Stopher reports 690 men and 910 women enrolled this fall at KSU totaling 1600 day students. He notes a drop of about 700 from last year and 1100 from fall 1940 in the current census.
The Freshmen Players announce the three act comedy The Tightwad chosen for the first show of the year. Directed by Bill Guisewite and Stanley Mouse, with Prof. E Turner Stump supervising. Casting for November 5 and 6 will begin after the books arrive.

Prof James Holm reports good prospects new talent and timely topic for the University squad.
