Friars Join National Fraternity As Theta Kappa Phi Chapter
The Friars fraternity becomes Phi chapter of Theta Kappa Phi on December 3 at Kent State University. Ohio Northern Ohio State and Penn State install the chapter with national officers present. TKP originated at Lehigh in 1914, evolving from X club. Local Friars, formed October 13 1947, now total 28 actives and 16 alumni with no pledges.

Chestnut Burrs Still Available at Burr Office
Distribution of the 1949 Chestnut Burr continues until noon Saturday November 5 at the Burr office in the Hub. Books are available daily from 8 to 10 am 12 to 3 pm and 4 to 6 pm. Eligible students who attended three quarters of the 1948 49 school year receive a free book with a student activity card. Graduates in June and August receive books from the bindery if they attended three quarters in 48 49. Summer attendance does not qualify.

Kent Student Struck by Car in Canton
A university student Ronald Hollister of Barberton was struck by a speeding car while crossing a Canton street early Wednesday. He is in serious condition at Mercy hospital and was unconscious at 6 p.m. Witness Al Fahry said Hollister failed to see the vehicle before crossing.

Quarterly Registration To Begin For Winter Quarter
Pre registration for the winter quarter starts Monday November 7 announced by registrar C E Atkinson. Students should contact advisors obtain a trial program have schedules approved then return them to the registrar. Large white program cards are available December 1 through December 12. Fees should be paid during this period. Registration will be January 3 for those who did not pre register with class work starting January 4 due to holidays.
