Kent State Golden Flashes dominated Connecticut Huskies 27 to 0 in the homecoming game before about 12 000 fans. Sophomore Jack Mancos ran for 220 yards on 13 carries and Wib Little added 121 yards on 12 rushing attempts as the Flashes piled up 446 yards. The opening kickoff featured a 58 yard run by Mancos setting the tone for the game.

University officials hailed the Homecoming as Kent State’s best yet featuring football with Homecoming Queen Phyllis Young crowned at halftime by Irvin Wheatly. Attendants Gerry Tarmichael and Alice Romanchuk, a packed Wills gym, and Freddy Arthur’s orchestra fueled dances from 9 to 12. Stopher hall led dorm decorations with 140 of 150 points while Alpha Gamma Delta Beta Gamma tied at 187 in sororities and Phi Beta Phi led fraternities with 140. John Loves Mary played to full houses for three nights with record opening and Friday theater crowds.

Lets Dance Dances Continue In Moulton Music Room
Social dancing will continue with recorded music in the Moulton Music Room this Wednesday awaiting the student union building opening. Dances will be held weekly there until the new building opens with a 25 cent admission per person.
Kent Writers form student manuscript agency on campus
Script Agency Initiated Here reports that students may market manuscripts through a new campus agency formed by several English faculty members. The Kent Writers will operate as an auxiliary of the Kent Literary Agency Inc, granting student authors early exposure to manuscript sales. Prospective members should submit three manuscripts and an application letter to Lloyd Chipps. a November 10 meeting is planned.

Burrs Offered Daily At Hub Distribution Of 1949 Chestnut Burr
The Chestnut Burr will be distributed all week at the Burr office in the Hub. Hours are 8 to 10 am, noon to 3 pm, and 4 to 6 pm. Students who attended the university three quarters in 1948 49 may obtain a free book with an activity card ID. Graduates in June and August receive mailed copies if they attended three quarters of 1948 49.
