Modern records of Sherman’s soldiers help the KSU cast of Abe Lincoln in Illinois in rehearsal. Actual uniforms and gear from the march to the sea, Broadway play records, and Broadway tone studies guide the Dec 4 and 6 production with cast led by Gene Moulton as Abe and Martha Galloway as Ann Rutledge.
University alumni lunch today at Allerton hotel in Cleveland marks NEOTA annual meeting opening with Prof S A Harbourt as toastmaster. Over 150 attendees expected as faculty members lead talks on English journalism elementary instruction and assembly programs and join in NEOTA sessions through tomorrow.
Kent State students polled 197 for Roosevelt and 177 for Willkie in a stratified campus sample. Roosevelt led by about 5.4 percent, with reasons citing experience and leadership for Roosevelt and opposition to a third term for Willkie. Farm and labor policy split showed mixed views. International policy favored Roosevelt, while business concerns split between the candidates.
The Kent State University Men's Union will hold a Tuesday November 5 meeting at 11 a.m. with student speakers Fritzie Koole Bill Leever Leonard Kramer and Betty Crampton discussing past and future university opportunities and recent departmental improvements in journalism science and speech. The program features a revived Kent State Association songs by the Men s quartet and glee club directed by Bruce Handley with additional musical interludes.
Mrs. Virginia Harvey assistant professor of health and physical education attends the Ohio College association meeting in Athens. She will lead a discussion on the status of physical education for girls in Ohio high schools.
Susanne M. Koehler and Norma Wood of the training school join Prof. Harriet Adams of the art department for the NECTA gathering.
Dr. Lester H. Munzenmayer professor of education and director of teacher placement will address the Freedom Parent-Teachers association Monday November 4. His topic is The Secondary School Curriculum.
