A Gallup method poll of 1477 Kent State men shows unanimous support for arming if Hitler invades the United States, while 15 percent back national military training now. If Germany targets the Americas, 89 percent would volunteer for preparedness service.

Kent State University held its Eighth Annual Scholarship Day with 59 students honored at a 2 PM assembly. Dr Constantine J Alexopoulos urged intellectual courage and cited Aristotle Hippocrates Pasteur Nogarchi as ideals, stressing scholarship beyond grades and textbooks. Special honors went to Ernestine Baumgardner Gordon Hostettler Marvin Koller Mary Suderow Leland Zahniser for distinct achievements. Don Scullion presented Kenneth L Adolph a plaque as outstanding graduating senior in the College of Business Administration.

Select Group To Preview Burr Today
A Hollywood Preview of Chestnut Burr will be held this afternoon from 4 to 6 in Moulton hall parlors marking the 26th anniversary of the annual. Invitations went to all university deans journalism faculty and publication committee members. Guests include Dr and Mrs K C Leebrick Mr and Mrs Edward Kahn Mr and Mrs William Gadd Dale Rooks and Mr and Mrs James Holm. Holm was Burr business manager in 1938. Henry Beck will present a movie on the year’s Burr work.
