Kent Stater Rowboat Regatta Set to Start June 4

The ninth annual Rowboat Regatta at Brady Lake Park is scheduled for June 4 with a faculty versus students softball game, a bathing beauty queen, haywagon carnival, and a dance after the races. Entries cost 10 dollars per group from independent groups, fraternities, dorms, or clubs, with multiple divisions and cups.

Campus Day Parade and May Queen Highlight University Calendar

Campus day on Saturday May 28 features a parade of floats by 11 fraternities eight sororities and eight independents with roped routes through Main Water and Summit streets and a 7 pm songfest. The May Queen will be crowned and awards announced during intermission before Frankie Reynolds orchestra music begins at 9 pm.

Miss Nancy Miller Named Associate Professor of Library Science

Miss Nancy E. Miller is appointed associate professor of library science at Kent State University effective May 1. Previously head of Canton Public Library reference department since 1943, she earned an A.B. from the University of Kentucky in 1938 and a B.S. in Library Science from Illinois in 1942 along with a master’s in library science from Illinois in 1947. She will teach graduate and undergraduate library science courses at Kent State.
