National Music Week Program Reaches Second Day

Marguerite Cook Wins State Peace Oratory Prizes

Marguerite Cook, Kent State ace freshman, placed second in a state-wide Peace Oratory contest in Columbus earning a $30 prize. She was the only freshman among nine contestants and one of two women in the field. An Ohio Wesleyan student won first prize.

Faculty Broadcast to Continue War Defense Series

May Queen Petitions Filed For Campus Night Queen

Ten students including Beatrice Wright Elaine Harvey Telene Ingram Marjorie Belcher Edna Belcher Jo Ann Hacha Eileen Arnold Doris Stanton Donna Johnson and Julia Salem entered the May Queen contest Dean Mary L. Smallwood announced. The queen will be chosen May 9 by a secret ballot of Carl Gaertner Glenn Shaw and Elmer Novotny. Coronation is set for Friday May 16 during Campus Night festivities.
