University registration and out-of-state fees are expected to increase this fall following Ohio State University's 50 percent hike last week. Comptroller Paul Beck said the move is almost unavoidable as Gov. Herbert pushes for higher university costs. Kent State has not raised fees in years, and the April trustees meeting will decide the amount.

Kent State Rollins football game canceled over segregation concerns
Kent State University canceled the November 22 game at Winter Park Florida against Rollins College after a vote by Kent State players and the athletic policy committee. Three Black players would not travel due to public opposition to mixed athletics in the South. Unseasonal March Storm Closes Spring Quarter At University
A severe early spring storm dumped over four inches of snow with drifts up to four feet, closing classes after 4 pm. President George A. Bowman canceled today’s sessions, enrollment dropped to 4,377 from 4,814, and attendance fell 50 to 75 percent. Transit stalled, buses and trains ran late, and students faced widespread isolation on campus. Maintenance workers cleared routes as wind damaged buildings and windham area housing. The infirmary reported no storm related injuries.

Sixth Photography Short Course draws 503 lensmen
A record 503 cameramen from 40 states and Canada attended the sixth annual short course in news photography on the campus. Leadership citations were awarded to Julius Greenfield Jack Price Frank Scherschsel and Richard L Sarno. Winners in five divisions included Arnold Hardy Austin Marquette Gordon Kuster and Wayne Bell. The Detroit Times won best newspaper exhibit for the second year.
