Kent State selects its Varsity King during intermission at the East Market Gardens in Akron. Dancing begins at 9 p.m. with Ray Robinson providing music. Each couple may cast two votes for a contestant among Dick Mowery Bob Evans Pete George Leroy Thompson Don Wilson Ed Harms John Milkovich and Hal Schoonover. Tickets cost 1.00 per couple for Booster members and 1.50 for nonmembers, on sale at the Booster booth or Gardens, with all proceeds to the stadium fund. University women receive 1:30 permits.

University awards equipment contract for dormitory kitchen fixtures
President George A Bowman announced awarding a contract for kitchen cafeteria and lunchroom equipment to Monarch Store Fixture of Cleveland. The $74,318.03 deal funds equipment for the new men's dormitory and student center under construction. University trustees approved preliminary plans for part of the Practical Arts building with final plans due in May for bids in June.
