University radio workshop to discuss minority understanding

A campus radio workshop today at 4 p m will center on promoting better understanding of minority groups. Participants include Mada Moseley YWCA Joe Blair YMCA Pauline Johnston Negro students Tom Bates Newman club and Ray Deming Wesley Foundation with Rev Robert C Clemmonds leading the round table. The program also features the University band performing the Flandria overture and the Raymond overture with script by Adelaide Snyder and announcing by EB Lenard Silverstein and Walt Wolfe.

Nine Enlist In Marines From University

Nine University men enrolled for the U S Marine Corps candidates class during the last two days. Adrian Van Wyen, reserve coordinator, said some vacancies remain especially among seniors and applications are available in Merrill hall room 301. Finalists will go to Cleveland for medical exams. Convocation Aims at Religious Peace in University

Bonds and Stamps Reach $150 On Campus Drive

About one hundred fifty dollars in U S defense bonds and stamps have been sold on campus in two months. Marie Hyde Apple announces the totals including three 25 dollar bonds, three 5 stamps, eight 1 stamps and remaining 10 and 25 cent stamps. Booths at Wills gym entrance serve county and state basketball tournaments and drives are organized at sororities and dormitories.

Len Shafitz editor of the Chestnut Burr hosts Rosita a showgirl of seven years on the RKO circuit as she becomes a coed for a day. She plans a campus tour visiting university departments a fraternity and a sorority house and mingling with students on schedule.

Hospital list narrows as three patients remain ill

The University hospital roster shrank over the weekend with Martha Harper, Elizabeth Stafford, and Barbara Hole still in the infirmary. Mary Hazen and Grace Seeley were discharged Sunday.

Women Signed For Vic tory Volunteers Campaign

University women pledged to participate in the Victory Volunteers program. Rosalie Christian, chair, announced the effort to distribute rating charts to signed members and to build the health of University women for potential national defense emergencies.

Burton Duck Placed Under Observation After Appendicitis

Liberal arts senior Burton Duck is under observation at Warren City hospital after an attack of appendicitis last Friday. His condition is not serious. Rifle club meets tomorrow at 4 p m in room 302 Merrill hall to discuss shoot times and range rules, announced by club president Jim Griffin.
