Summer session enrollment reached 2321 by Wednesday, a new attendance record, while all on campus housing and Windham listings are fully booked. About 1500 veterans are enrolled, with 500 new veterans, as Engleman Lowry and Moulton halls reach capacity and Windham remains heavily utilized. Dean Blair to Step Down as Kent State College Dean
Dr. John L. Blair, dean of Kent State University’s college of education for 19 years, will resign effective August 31 after the summer session. He joined Kent State as registrar in 1927 and became dean in 1932. Blair, born in Illinois, earned a philosophy degree at Shurtleff College and advanced degrees from the University of Chicago, where he won the Susan Collyer prize in 1931 for his education thesis.
