Room Shortage Predicted For KSU Fall Registrants

Students entering the university this fall face a severe housing shortage at KSU. The Davey Barracks will be unavailable due to an expanded training program, leaving male students without a dorm space. Co eds also struggle to find rooms as the three girls dormitories are booked until fall 1949 with a waiting list.

Benefit Show To Expedite Stadium Drive

A large benefit show announced by Roy Newsome will kick off the Summer Session Memorial Stadium drive. Plans include comedy music and drama as part of a two pronged effort to boost contributions. The treasury stands at 45464.67 with university groups contributing 19963.17. Booster booth hours begin Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon for cash or pledge contributions.

Kent State off campus housing list short 50 houses

University officials report only 50 approved off campus houses. C. J. Seward, Portage county housing agent, is contacting Ravenna residents offering quarters for KSU students. Interested callers should reach him at 6535 in Ravenna. In Kent, contact the university residences office for calls.

WV 28 Cafeteria Closes Weekends Due to Low Patrons

The university dining hall will stop serving on Saturdays and Sundays after two weekends with insufficient demand. Meals will be offered on weekdays at 7:15-8:15 for breakfast 11:30-1:00 for lunch and 5:00-6:00 for dinner.

Boosters Reviving Old College Spirit at Rockwell Field

Booster club plans a campus rally at Rockwell field behind the Hub to revive college spirit. Coach Trev Reese and players speak at 8 p.m. with new freshmen building a bonfire and new cheerleaders introduced. Professors, coaches, and the university band join a torchlight parade downtown. Tickets for 48 games available via Ray Moran with first come seats.

Late Permits for Dance at Meyers Lake Canton

University women attending the Stadium Drive Benefit dance at Meyer's Lake Gardens Canton Ohio July 23 will receive 1:30 a.m. permits issued by Dean of Women Ada V Hyatt. The dance runs 8:30 p.m. to midnight with Ray Robinson and his orchestra. proceeds fund Kent Memorial Stadium building. Attendees must sign a ballroom entrance register to qualify.
