Senate Opens Here Saturday at Northeastern Debate Conference
The Northeastern Debate conference opens Saturday January 11 with a model student senate at the University auditorium. About 10 schools will participate as Kent State sends three senators Joe Blair Marjorie Jacot and Jule Hardman with technical advisers. Delegations may submit multiple bills and resolutions for senate action while officers and committees are formed. Potential bills include declarations of war on Germany ratification of a union with American nations severing ties with Japan and extending Federal power.

Freshmen journalists are asked to meet Thursday at 1 in the Kent States office. A seniors meeting is set for 4 PM today in room 317 McGilvrey hall to decide class dues and the senior dance.

Students Face Extended Vacations After Illness In Campus Stay
We are getting cheated vacations were extended for eight students yesterday when five were sent home because of illness, two admitted to the University infirmary, and one confined to his room. Students sent home were Thelma Haught Bertha Weiss Verla Walters Dorothy Pearson and Sam Miller. Robert Roderick is convalescing at his room, and Mary Ellen Bower and Edward Chesleski are in the hospital.
