The room will offer Cokes candy bars ping pong and a juke box and will operate daily 3 p.m. to house closing time with weekend hours yet undetermined. The 20 window first floor room has sound proof walls blue grey rose color and will have waxed dark blue floors for dancing with metal furniture and a doorway to Main street.

K-Vets Adopt New Committee System

The K-Vets inaugurate a system using committees led by a general chairman from the executive board. Each committee will meet separately with heads for membership house rules legislation liaison housing publicity social orientation service program and constitution. Dues set at 25 cents per quarter payable at a hall table during pre-registration through three days after registration ends.

Scholarship Open To KSU Women

Two scholarships were offered to university women by the Kent Ravenna branch of the American Association of University Women. One funds study at the University of Paris and the other at the University of Mexico. Applications, judged on intelligence, responsibility, talent and general knowledge, are due by April 1.

Journalism majors at the annual photography short course March 20 23 may work off fees for both the beginners course opening 9 am March 19 and the regular short course by assisting the journalism staff. Kent State ISA backs Coalition pact for Miss Kent State

The Independent Students Association explains its stance after backing the Coalition party’s Miss Kent State candidate with the understanding the Coalition would support ISA’s own pick Miss Shutrump for most popular woman. Kinney and Sullivan, both liberal arts students, hold Kappa Phi Beta pledges and Kappa Mu Kappa pledges respectively, with Sullivan chairing petitions and managing Hulbert house.

Band Festival Staged Here April 27 28

Nine Ohio colleges will participate in the Ohio intercollegiate band festival to be staged here April 27 and 28. Raymond Dvorak, University of Wisconsin band director, will lead selected players from Kent Capitol Ohio Wesleyan Wittenberg Miami Youngstown Bowling Green Otterbein and Oberlin colleges in a 120 piece band concert on the festival's second day. The music department offers two baritones a piccolo oboe bassoon clarinet French horn trombone and tuba for students who can play and are interested in band music. Rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday at 4 pm in Room 309 Merrill hall beginning soon.
