University and high school students receive reduced registration for a short course in news photography directed by Prof A Clarence Smith. The program, March 6 7 9 9 features ethics discussions led by Tom Wallace Louisville Times editor, and a color synchronization presentation by Jack Price. Students will use six university dark rooms and tour Nela Park Cleveland March 7 to view lighting demos, with dinner hosted by General Electric.
Ruth Hazlett Elizabeth White and Virginia Voted were named as official candidates for Miss Kent State by the elections committee. Election day is set for Tuesday February 19 and the campaign is expected to heat up as today progresses. The election site remains to be announced.
The Stater reports Ruth Hazlett of Hudson was nominated at the last minute on the Independent ticket for Miss Kent State. Her official portrait could not be secured before press time and will appear in tomorrow's edition.
Voters will move from the atrium to the Little Gym at Kent Hall end to cast ballots. Elizabeth White of Gamma Sigma Phi backs Kentonian with university theatre ties, Virginia Voted leads Blue and Gold and is SBeta Gamma past president and Cardinal Key secretary. Ruth Hazlett runs independently. The queen will be presented at the freshman all university dance on February 21.
