Memorial Stadium drive nears completion with $7,400 pledged including $250 from the 1947 football squad. Kickoff at a special assembly early next week will feature a guest speaker. Plaques will honor sponsors in the stadium lobby, with $15 or more pledges earning a seat plaque.
Three Greek groups move to benefit Memorial Stadium drive with dances. Alpha Phi Beta and Gamma Phi Beta co sponsor a Stadium Hop on April 9 at Will’s gym with university officials as honored guests. KMK fraternity plans an all university dance to aid the stadium drive. date to be set after committee meets.
A limited number of tickets for the ISA barn party are on sale this afternoon. One hundred fifty tickets are available at 35 cents each from the Boosters Club booth. The Barn is located one-quarter mile south of Stow with Duke Waterhouse in charge of decorations and George Taimuty arranging refreshments.
Varsity K club will honor new football lettermen with a closed informal sweater dance in Moulton hall after the Muskingum basketball game on Dec 13. Men must wear letter sweaters. a sweater girl will be chosen from among attendees.
Veterans without subsistence checks should contact R L Harrington at the Veterans Administration Office in the Student Union on Monday December 15. The office aims to issue checks before Christmas. Graduating December 20 and not returning for January should file interruption forms with the Veterans Coordinator to avoid overpayment and potential deduction by the Cleveland office.
Social dancing in Wills Gym tonight from 8 30 to 10 15 p m. Bob Smith and his university orchestra provide the music. Admission is 25 cents per person plus one activity card per couple.
The YMCA held its regular session last night with Ray Christopherson presenting the tentative program for the coming quarter. Dave Miller explained a new membership system to members.
The Age of Enlightenment, a Life magazine photography exhibition, is on display at the Kent Hall Art gallery through December 19. Divided into three sections, it offers a pictorial look at a key era in Western culture, featuring artists and architects such as Boucher Fragonard Nattier Rigaud Watteau Moreau le Jeune David Drouais Debucourt Greauze Le doux Delamaire Soufflot and related prints photographs.
Prof. M. L. Byrne head of the University of Michigan training school industrial arts department will speak on Influences of Current Technical Developments on Industrial Arts. He will arrive by his plane to Kent for the 5 p.m. meeting in the industrial arts conference room followed by dinner and a session in Moulton hall music room.
Industrial engineer S. D. Sanders of White Motor Coach Cleveland will speak at the Management association banquet tonight at 6 30. He will discuss problems from a career objective viewpoint.
