Penny fund brings Christmas cheer to former students in service
Former students in hospitals and overseas will receive campus Christmas cheer via a barrel in the atrium and Dean Raymond E. Manchester's office. The Penny fund, active during the war, sent Staters to over 4,500 servicemen. Though the war ended, hospitalized veterans cannot attend campus events, so students and faculty are asked to fill donation cards and drop pennies in the barrel.

Freshmen petitions will be handed out in room 213K from 12 to 3 p.m. today per Bob Duncan. Elections on December 18 will select four Men's Union reps four student council reps and four class officers. Petitions due by 12 noon December 10 require 234 signatures, ten percent of class. Ballot and poster positions drawn at 3 p.m. December 11 in room 213K.

Costa Chosen To Direct Short Course At Kent State
Joseph Costa, president of the National Press Photographers Association and photo supervisor of the New York Mirror, will direct the seventh annual news photography short course at Kent State University in March 1948. About 225 full time press photographers 25 Kent State photography journalism students and 15 speakers will attend from March 23 to 26, with exhibitions and awards planned.
