Deans announced winter quarter pre registration will likely start Friday or Saturday. Permits are issued from academic deans' offices starting Wednesday, December 3, based on prior quarter point averages. First day 3.00 to 4.00. second day 2.60 to 2.99. third day 2.21 to 2.59. fourth day 2.00 to 2.20. freshmen drawn list. fifth and sixth days beginning freshmen. seventh day 0.00 to 1.00.

Lloyd L. Lowenstein announces winter quarter revisions to the mathematics curriculum. Dropped courses include 161H Introduction to algebra 1614 Algebra and 161 College algebra. Replacements include 120 Elementary and Intermediate algebra 121 Intermediate algebra 160 College algebra. Course renamings include 162H to 122 Introduction to geometry and 160 Trigonometry to 161T Trigonometry. A new course 171 Theory and use of the slide rule and 372C becomes Business statistics.
Wright Everett reports a rapid campus facelift at KSU with an $800,000 student center and classroom building under way by March 21, 1949. A parking lot for 1500 cars and a future $800,000 men's dormitory rise behind Summit Street, while a $230,000 student health center nears completion near McGilvrey hall.
Seniors must bring proofs and place orders for individual pictures tomorrow from 9 to noon and 1 to 5 in the WAA office on the Student Union building. Deadline for graduate students is Thursday. Portraits will be taken at Bransbys studio.
Dr. Delbert Oberteuffer of Ohio State University will address the University Health and Physical Education club at 2 p.m. in 199K after a luncheon for the Kent Rotary. A longtime OSU faculty member since 1932, he previously oversaw the state physical education program and worked as Army athletic consultant during the war.
Eleven music majors and minors will give a recital at 7 30 tonight in 312M. Marjorie Sprott Marjorie Peters Myron Pearson Martha Lansinger Barbara Dormody Joy Brand Jo Anne Harvey Arnold Cheyney Barbara Lilley Elsie Fellmeth and Jean Morse are among soloists and instrumental groups on the program. All music majors and minors are asked to attend a Music club meeting at 6 30 in the same room. Committee appointments are to be made.
The university announces a series of tests for entering freshmen and other students. The O.S.U. psychological test runs December the aptitude test is December 11 and reading test December 12 at various times in the Main Auditorium. Students may take tests during free periods or be excused with dean approval.
Council of Presidents will meet at 4 today in 210K and on the first and third Tuesday of each month thereafter. Chairman Curt Sarff urged presidents or representatives of every campus organization to attend and said the group can help correct problems with excellent results. President George A. Bowman praised the council and hoped it would continue to serve the school.
The Illustravox senior record and projection machine is presented to the School of Journalism by the Advertising Club of New York. Accompanying the gift are 25 audio discs and a film covering lectures from a recent refresher course in advertising and selling. The device will aid journalism faculty in their classes.
George Weisz's lithographic print "Bait Boy" won the Purchase Prize in the Ohio Print Makers Society annual show and now tours at the Dayton Art Institute. Weisz is a graduate assistant in the school of art.
Applicants for editor and business manager positions at Kent Stater must submit entries by tomorrow per the student publications policy committee. The notice stresses the winter quarter deadline and adherence to policy.
Al Post resigns as feature editor of the Kent States Stater amid policy disputes with columnist Clarence J. Dover. Sophomores Wright Everett and Myron T. Abood will replace him. Post notes two years on the staff and declines further comment.
Two new ROTC shooting galleries have been constructed beside the warehouse at the athletic field for ROTC use only. The project was announced and described as ready for operation.
