Northeastern Ohio High School Students Take State Tests
For the second Saturday in a row the university hosts over 600 students from Portage and Trumbull counties on campus to participate in the 1948 final District State Scholarship tests. Dr. A W Stewart heads the division of secondary education and oversees the exams.

Kent State Bands and Choirs Prepare for May Festival
Nine Kent State students will join the intercollegiate band festival at Ohio Wesleyan on May 2 and 3, with a 125 member all Ohio band conducted by John Morrissey of Tulane. Kent State programs include chorus, men's glee club, mixed quartet, and a Rimsky Korsakov arrangement soloist. The event is free in the university auditorium. National Music Week features a joint university orchestra and Civic orchestra under Kenneth Byler with a drum major and majorette contest offering a band clinic scholarship. Romanian Scholarship Fund Created at University
A Romanian scholarship fund is established at the university to aid students of Romanian descent. The fund totals over 2500 dollars and aims for 10000 dollars next year, with solicitations in the Canton area.
