Building Program Advances at KSU Projects

The second floor of the student hospital and the roof of the temporary locker room are the latest KSU building program advances. The hospital will have three floors with third floor construction starting this week. The locker room is due July 1 per Emil Berg. The building will include two teams public toilets and a faculty field office. A temporary classroom behind south hall is set for completion by July 1. Four classrooms will be on the first floor and two lecture rooms on the second. A bricklayer shortage has slowed the student union project but a shipment of structural steel from Youngstown is expected this week. The men’s dormitory is now under way with foundations poured.

Dancing Tonight at Wills Gym Social

Social dancing will be held in Wills gym from 8 to 10 15 tonight with records playing. A 25 cent admission will be charged and proceeds go to the stadium drive.

Governor Herbert visits high school journalists at Northeastern Ohio conference

Student Council President Tom Davey mixed up a handshake and a $60 check as Gov. Herbert visited the university to discuss the stadium drive. Hundreds of high school journalists attended the Northeastern Ohio Scholastic Press association conference.

Blue Key Alpha Plans New Member Tap This May

Blue Key national honor fraternity will select new members in May. Frank Vendely reports the membership committee will accept tonight's submissions of names, class standing, activities, and grade averages. The local chapter uses a new point system for campus activity credit and will discuss Campus Night and constitution changes at the 7 p.m. meeting.

Sky-Flys Meet for Cross Country Flying Course

All students interested in the cross country flying course and those who hold a private pilot's certificate will meet in 109M at 3 30 p m tomorrow. The course will be offered during the first summer session if at least seven students sign up.

Regional IRC Conference Draws Hundreds from Local Colleges

Twelve university students attended the Ohio Valley regional conference of International Relations clubs at West Virginia University Morgantown over the weekend. Speakers included U S Senator Harley M Kilgore on International Cartels. Attendees from Kent State led by Cornelia Popescu and Isabel Lee listed among delegates.

June Graduates Deadline for announcements and dues

Today offers final chance for prospective June graduates to order announcements. A printer extension allows orders from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at a Kent hall corridor entrance table. Class and alumni dues are also collected today.

Seek Traffic Court Justice Vacancy in Student Court

A vacancy opens in the Traffic Court of the Student Court System after Arnold Lewis withdraws. The three member panel may include any gender and requires a 2.00 college average, with the last term also at 2.00. Major General Chester W. Goble announces the World War II Compensation Fund will begin mailing the initial Ohio bonus checks today. The release marks the start of survivors' payments and eligibility processing.

Allocations rejected the spring budget after Varsity Athletics cuts and warned of an ugly conflict.
