Thieves armed with sledge hammers smashed a steel and concrete safe at Kent State airport on Saturday night but failed to take cash. The lid was driven down and the cash box remained unfound, marking a third break in to the office near the hangar. A sledge and a tractor were left nearby.

Arthur C. Horrocks, first head of Goodyear Industrial University and longtime NAOF leader, speaks at 8 in the training school auditorium. Mason KSUC Founder Dies in Canton Funeral
Funeral services were held today in Canton for Jesse H. Mason an assistant founder of Kent State Canton and personal friend of President George A Bowman. Mason died Saturday in Canton of a heart attack. He previously was principal of Zanesville High School and superintendent of Chillicothe and Marion schools, positions he held before being succeeded by President Bowman.
