Three Justices Named To New Traffic Court

Student Council nominated a slate for officers to be approved April 17 with Tom Davey for president Bob Duncan for vice president Tillie Davis for secretary Jean Goncher for treasurer and two alternates Ginnie Block and Phyllis Ferguson. Three justices Elmer Dietz chief justice Donna Mae Burkhardt and Jack Horitz chosen for the traffic court bench. New voter registration procedure set April 7 to 11 with signatures checked at polling.

Port Safe Cracked at Kent State Airport

Thieves armed with sledge hammers smashed a steel and concrete safe at Kent State airport on Saturday night but failed to take cash. The lid was driven down and the cash box remained unfound, marking a third break in to the office near the hangar. A sledge and a tractor were left nearby.

Horrocks To Address BA Students Tonight At 8

Arthur C. Horrocks, first head of Goodyear Industrial University and longtime NAOF leader, speaks at 8 in the training school auditorium. Delta Sigma Pi sponsors the event open to all Business Administration students. Horrocks charted a varied career from cowboy to production foreman and university director with extensive speaking work in 1946 reaching 58,000 listeners.

Business Administration students planning summer study are asked to complete questionnaires on course preferences. Forms will be distributed in classes or available at 314M. The department notes the forms do not commit the student to chosen courses and will guide summer program planning.

Fletcher Reelected Miss Mona Fletcher Secretary Treasurer

Miss Mona Fletcher associate professor of political science and the only northern Ohioan to attend last week's blizzard session was reelected secretary treasurer of the Ohio College Association at a meeting held at Antioch College in Yellow Springs Friday.

Registration Slips Slightly on Spring Enrollment

Figures show spring quarter enrollment at 4 492, down 322 from 4 814 in winter. Registrar E C Stopher expects total to reach 4 575 with late registrants, and notes 6 000 could be possible if housing and classrooms are added by fall.

Three Sociology Teachers Appointed After Preston Resigns

Following the resignation of Dr. Harley O. Preston associate professor three new appointments fill the Sociology department. Dr. James T. Laing heads the group Judge George G. McClelland now teaches criminology John Spears and Meade Letts teach introductory and freshman sociology courses. Preston left to join the American Research Foundation at the University of Pittsburgh campus.

Mason KSUC Founder Dies in Canton Funeral

Funeral services were held today in Canton for Jesse H. Mason an assistant founder of Kent State Canton and personal friend of President George A Bowman. Mason died Saturday in Canton of a heart attack. He previously was principal of Zanesville High School and superintendent of Chillicothe and Marion schools, positions he held before being succeeded by President Bowman.

Plan Duchess For April From Campus Humor Magazine

Kenneth K. Goldstein announced the Duchess edited campus humor magazine will be printed mid April. Plans for the year call for a format change to widen appeal and the six remaining issues promised during the subscription campaign. New staff talent is being recruited and aspirants may contact Goldstein in the Duchess office.

Drivers Urged To List Cars On Campus

Student operated vehicles must be registered with the traffic department office in the gymnasium corridor as soon as possible. Dale Rowe warns that at Miami University a student was dismissed for failing to register a car, and Kent State will enforce the rule with a $1 fine for unregistered vehicles on campus during the quarter.
