Twenty Thousand Given To Old City Hospital

The mayor celebrated passage of city bonds with a posum sipper at the Old City Hospital. Guests included hospital and health board members, the health commissioner, the general hospital superintendent, the city comptroller, and the mayor’s secretary. The $20,000 raise will fund walks, electricity, an X-ray, porches converted to sanitoria, 100 more beds, tuberculosis pavilion remodeling, a children’s ward, linoleum, hardwood floors, redecorating, and a passenger elevator, all aimed to be completed before next summer’s National Medical Association meeting.
