Fifty Years of Masonry in Omaha Meeting
In 1887 the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge met in Omaha with a large delegation. Grand Treasurer Bruce was absent amid a near fifteen hundred dollar shortage. Dr J C C Owens filled in as temporary treasurer while Bruce faced financial trouble. The Iowa Trouble was resolved and Grand Master Pelham led the lodge through elections with Pelham reelected, Jones as Grand Treasurer, and Rickelia as Junior Grand Warden. Hannibal won the next meeting after a chase for the plum.

Robert Moton a Leader of Men at Hampton Institute
Robert Russa Moton born 1867 in Amelia county Virginia rose to commandant of cadets at Hampton Institute after 1890. He served as secretary of the Negro Oral School Fund Board and since 1932 as president of the Negro Organization Society of Virginia, aiding hundreds of thousands of Negroes with schools health farms and homes. A lifelong friend of Booker T. Washington Moton is noted for speeches and writings on race progress and uplift. Quarterly meeting at Clark Chapel on Sunday January 2 invites all.
